This is a reminder that our AGM will be held on 26th November. This will start at 7.30pm and will be held at Portchester Parish Hall.  The evening will consist of a presentation of our Annual Report and announcements on successful appointments, followed by an opportunity to network and celebrate another year with each other, enjoy some refreshments and, of course, a festive raffle.

As mentioned at our last member’s meeting, we truly value the support of every volunteer who helps us to have a successful association, and we would encourage everyone to consider whether they could help support via one of the available roles.

Appointed Roles Available:

·       Asian Hornet Coordinator – key contact for NBU and AH verifiers

·       Communications Officer – posting/scheduling social media posts etc.

·       Swarms Coordinator – key contact for swarm notifications and collectors

·       Fort Cumberland Apiary Manager – ideally someone who already has hives on site

We are keen to emphasise that these roles are not onerous, and in many cases are coordination roles, where you act as the key contact point for receiving and disseminating information. These roles do not require you to attend committee meetings unless you wish to, updates to the committee can be sent via email.

Electable Roles Available:

·       Trustees (with or without portfolio)

This is a role as a charity trustee, which therefore requires attendance of committee meetings (4th Thurs of month), and take shared responsibility for the decisions made about the association. This is a great way to help shape the direction of our association and ensure that our activities support the achievement of our charitable objects.
