We are very grateful to have some wonderful volunteers within our association who help the club to run and support members at all stages of their beekeeping journeys and help to raise public awareness of our wonderful pollinators.
The Committee is made up of our trustees and those who hold appointed roles. Each gives their time and expertise freely, and we always welcome new members joining this team and helping us to run a supportive and nurturing association, dedicated to safe and ethical beekeeping practices and promotion of activities to aid our wonderful pollinators.

The Association has many experienced beekeepers amongst its membership, who are very happy to give new beekeepers a helping hand with practical advice and hands-on instruction on how to manage bees. Start-up equipment can be economically purchased at local auctions and from our shop at the Bastion.
The Association intends to continue having stands at local shows to educate the public and attract new members, with these having included Portchester, Denmead, Havant, Rowlands Castle, Milton and more. Any support that members can give at these events is always greatly appreciated.
Basic Beekeeping courses are run periodically by members, along with continual training opportunities facilitated by our training coordinator and support for all members through regular members meetings in Portchester.
The Committee meet regularly throughout the year to undertake planning and activities that support the efficient and effective running of the Association. The Skep opens Saturday mornings from early March to aid PDBKA members with their consumable and equipment needs, with collection of items being via a pre-order ‘Cliff & Collect’ basis.
For contacting regarding swarms, please first ensure it is a honeybee swarm check here. If it is a honeybee swarm, then please contact one of the swarm co-ordinators.
If you cannot get hold of a swarm collecter then you can contact one via the BBKA website. BBKA Swarm Collection
