Hands-On Practical Course
We have provided a season of supervised sessions, where you can put the theory you have learnt on the winter course into practice in the hive and gain experience across the breadth of an entire season. Please note that you must have completed the PDBKA Winter (Theory) Course, or an agreeable equivalent, to undertake this course.
Our courses are all run by experienced beekeepers who kindly volunteer their time to support those starting their beekeeping journeys, with all sessions held within the Portsmouth and District area.
Unfortunately, due to the timings and logistics of moving our training apiary, we will not be running a 2026 hands-on course.
However, there are a number of PDBKA members who are often prepared to support fellow members who have recently completed our Winter (Theory) Course to gain some hands-on experience with them. Please do speak to fellow members at our monthly meetings if this is something you are interested in.
